Gormley Man on a Wall
Some jobs are just plain fun, despite a dizzying array of technical challenges (or maybe because of them). In this case we installed a life-size cast-iron statue by Antony Gormley, designed to be cantilevered out from a vertical wall. Not only did we have to lift the object using chains lowered in from the roof above but we had to fabricate steel reinforcing for the wall in order to support the object’s 1300-pound weight.
